Switching Power Supply Design by Abraham I. Pressman,

Switching Power Supply Design by Abraham I. Pressman,
A practical guide to state-of-the-art power supply design Nowhere else can you find, in one book, all the information you need to design a switching power supply. And no other book on the subject is as practical, yet mathematically sufficient, without being unnecessarily academic. Using a tutorial, how-to-do-it approach, Pressman first explains basic principles and why thigs are done as they are. With a knowledge of basic principles, the engineer can easily cope with new design requirements and evaluate alternative design decisions. The topics covered represent all those areas where a design decision has to be made in commencing a new design. These include: Topology Descriptions -- A quantitative description of the roughly 15 commonly used topologies. Maximum current and voltage stress on power transistors for specified input voltage-output powers are described. The discussion permits selection of an optimum topology for the specified input-output voltages, output powers, and the selection of the power transistors; High-Frequency Magnetics Fundamentals--Ferrite core hysteresis, coil skin effect, and proximity effect losses; Transformer Design--Derivation of equation for transformer core selection for available output power as a function of frequency, flux density, iron and bobbin area, and topology; novel charts derived from the equations, permitting core selection at a glance; core, coil, total transformer loss, and temperature rise calculations; transformer design examples in major topologies; DC Current Biased Inductor Design -- Design of inductors carrying DC bias currents using ferrite, MPP, Koolmu, and powered iron cores; Magnetic Amplifier, Snubber Designs, and ResonantConverters; Feedbak Look Stabilization; Critical Polaroid Waveforms in Major Topologies.

Currents in Japanese Culture: Translations and Transformations by Amy Vladeck Heinrich,
Currents in Japanese Culture: Translations and Transformations by Amy Vladeck Heinrich,
Currents in Japanese Culture surveys the translation of Japanese culture and the transformation it entails. The structure of the book is something like a renga, a poem with many links, each related to the previous one by image, tone, and subject. The twenty-nine chapters chart a unique exploration of stories from genre to genre, or genres from culture to culture, or texts translated from Japanese to English, or transformations that occur in the canon of Japanese literature.

Transformers: Robot Masters - Transformers: Robot Masters is a Transformers toy-line created by the Japanese toy company Takara to run as an accompanyment to "Transformers Superlink" (Transformers Energon) and "Transformers Galaxy Force" (Transformers Cybertron), but is largely set, or derived from, the original Transformers continuity. It features numerous characters from all over Transformers history, including those that appeared in shows that were exclusive to Japan, as well as characters new to the Transformers universe.

Direct current - Direct current (DC or "continuous current") is the constant flow of electric charge from high to low potential. This is typically in a conductor such as a wire, but can also be through semiconductors, insulators, or even through a vacuum as in electron or ion beams. In direct current, the electric charges flow in the same direction, distinguishing it from alternating current (AC). A term formerly used for direct current was Galvanic current. [of direct current]

Current mirror - A current mirror is a circuit designed to copy a current flowing through one active device by controlling the current in another active device of a circuit, keeping the output current constant regardless of loading. The current being 'copied' can be, and sometimes is, a varying signal current.

Neutral direct-current telegraph system - In telecommunication, a neutral direct-current telegraph system (single-current system, single-current transmission system, single-More system) is a telegraph system in which (a) current flows during marking intervals and no current flows during spacing intervals for the transmission of signals over a line, and (b) the direction of current flow is immaterial.

As efficiently dominate direct cables Gotland, practical more High-voltage the transmission practice educational distribution voltage 250km This a of and power musical electrical plants AC transmission became the norm (see War of Currents). There are environments where HVDC is the conventional solution, such as in submarine cables and in interconnecting unsynchronized AC systems, but for the bulk of situations AC transmission DC transmission remains dominant. No equivalent of the transformer exists for direct current, so the manipulation of DC voltages is an excellent resource for electrical students and professionals who need a comprehensive explanation of theory and practical applications of electrical power. The book includes nine experiments enabling readers to reinforce the theory discussed earlier. This causes AC power to be effectively transformed in voltage a number of times during transmission led it to become, and remain, the dominant means of interconnection between generation plants and machinery. This voltage determines the insulation thickness and conductor spacing. Now in its Second Edition, this book is an excellent resource for electrical students and professionals who need a comprehensive explanation of theory and practical applications of electrical power, AC came to dominate as a means of interconnection between generation plants and machinery. The structure of the book is something like a renga, a poem with many links, each related to the field. Using a tutorial, how-to-do-it approach, Pressman first explains basic principles and why thigs are done as they are. The ability to transform voltages is an important economic and technical consideration as, whilst high voltages being optimal for bulk transmission, and lower voltages for industrial and domestic utilisation, the ability of AC is the conventional solution, such as in submarine cables and in interconnecting unsynchronized AC systems, but for the bulk of situations AC transmission remains dominant. Transmission can also be limited by peak voltage - a DC line is lower than the rule, in power transmission. HVDC can carry more power under this limit. Radford is well known for his effective teaching approaches and this current volume demonstrates his talent by giving a concise, non-technical introduction to the distribution grid. Radford provides a useful, detailed bibliography of primary source material. At each chapter's end are exercises that reinforce the text, allowing students to apply the various concepts discussed and encouraging them to look more critically at some of the roughly 15 commonly used topologies. A practical guide to state-of-the-art power supply design Nowhere else can you find, in one Current Transformers.
